Season Information
Formal practices for the fall season will begin in August. A parent meeting will be held immediately following the first practice.
Practices will occur after school, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Games are scheduled generally on Tuesday and Friday, during the season, with game starts varying between 4:30–5:00p.m. Players are expected to arrive 45 mins before game start.
Parents will be responsible for providing or arranging their students' transportation to both home and away games.
Heritage Academy Home Games Location
Cosmo Park Soccer Fields, 1615 Business Loop 70 West, Columbia, MO 65202 with the specific field identified on the game schedule. Map of Cosmo Park They are occasionally played at Gans Creek Rec. Area, 3360 E. Gans Road, Columbia, MO, 65201.
Game Cancellations Due to Weather or Field Conditions
Any decision to cancel a game because of inclement weather or poor field conditions will be posted in the GroupMe. Columbia Parks and Rec. also has a cancellation hotline that announces when field play is prohibited due to poor field conditions, in which case, home games will be canceled: 573.874.7663
Required Athletic Equipment for Soccer
Each player will be responsible for having a pair of cleats and shin guards to wear to games AND to practices. Quality socks (game socks are not permissible at practice) are also necessary for practice to prevent blistering. Uniforms will be provided by Heritage Academy and will be collected at the end of each season.
Students who do not wear shin guards to practice will not be permitted to participate in practice for the sake of safety, and may accrue half an absence (versus one whole absence), provided that the students remains present and engaged in practice to the extent that it is possible.
Volunteers Needed!
Parent and Alumni Volunteers are needed for each home game to fill the following various positions:
1. Collect Admissions/Concession
2. Manage the clock/score board
3. Keep the score book
4. Keep Stats
